Roker near Sunderland

Amanda? She's got some nerve her like, always complaining and deleting posts because of incomplete information then whinging when she gets abuse (which is uncalled for to be fair). she's quite arrogant not to change wrong information mind, despite several locals correcting her. The problem I had is that it was an admins post so she can basically do what she wants, if someone else follows her advise then expect a few people to put on, stayed at Seaburn near Sunderland in the future 🤣
She's sounds like a typical far left soap Dodger to me

Here is a historical Map of the Borough boundaries of Sunderland in 1925 .(You can click on the map and zoom in)

If your scroll up to the Northern boundary of the town you will see that the the Sunderland borough boundary runs along Cut Threat Dean towards the coast, To the south of that the only place that bears the name Seaburn is the School Camp which was built by Sunderland Town Council . You can see that its all open fields apart from Mere Knolls Cemetery from the school camp down to Sea Road in Fulwell. A place called "Seaburn" and its seaside promenade therefor did not come in to existence until after 1925.

This is conclusive proof (if it were needed) that Seaburn never existed outside of the Borough Boundaries of Sunderland and it was never a township in its own right unlike areas such as Southwick Castletown and Ryhope etc.

Wasn't Southwick once referred to as the royal Borough of Suddick famed for being the hunting grounds for the Prince bishops of Durham bit like the New Forest ??

Whitburn is SR6 as it's in the same post town as Sunderland as are Seaham & Murton etc, old Post Office areas from years ago, but strangely enough if you go on Google maps & click on any business etc in Whitburn the listed address will be Whitburn, Sunderland SR6, no mention of South Tyneside, the comp also uses Sunderland in their address on official correspondence.
I think it's a bit like those who still put Sunderland, Co Durham as their address. 😉
