yes. all 3 bands were classAnyone off here see Ferrious Dog at the Fire station?
Can't believe Pork Pie were on at the Navy Club today and I didn't know about it. I trust they were good?Been pissed a lot since Friday. Not sure if I’ve posted on this thread. Did Roker Riviera for a few hours yesterday then Panic Report at the Wheatsheaf. Pork Pie today at the Navy Club.
Sick of beer me.
Aye, they were very good. Was a strange one at first, cos it kicked off at 2pm, so they needed to fight to get everyone going. Sure you’ll have had that before with early slots. The room was set out with seats around the side of the room & back, so everybody was sitting down at first, which is the opposite of how ska should be enjoyed. Nobody on the dance floor. They got it filled later like, but the layout of the room probably hindered the band at first. But I suppose you’re not going to empty the room of chairs & tables. Can't believe Pork Pie were on at the Navy Club today and I didn't know about it. I trust they were good?
I saw them at Independent last year and thought the same thing, think it was as you say the layout and the time of day.Aye, they were very good. I’m there for a standing gig for Manchester Anthems in October. See how that goes. It’s a 9pm start on a matchday, which will help.
Not much you can do, it’s just the venue. It can’t be something it’s not I suppose. When I’ve seen them, or any ska covers at festivals, people are standing & naturally dancing within seconds.I saw them at Independent last year and thought the same thing, think it was as you say the layout and the time of day.
Yes, looking forward to it. Selma French was good when she played Pop Recs. Hopefully the bigger crowd can stay quiet for her support slot.Really looking forward to the Teenage FanClub gig anyone else off here going?
