Jhon Lucumi - Transfer Rumour

Again, just general overarching attacks, instead of countering specific points of mine. I can defend just about anything I have said on this forum, my opinions are well-considered and thought out. I am sometimes wrong, like everyone, of course.

The problem most people have with me is that I am not a happy clapper and I think outside of the box, which often leads to cynicism and contrarianism. Most of my arguments are ones most people wouldn't think of, I come at things from a unique side, and that can make linear-thinkers uncomfortable, when their worldview is challenged.

I think people like me are essential in society. I question and challenge everything, using logic and critical thinking.

But this is getting off topic, because yet again people resort to personal attacks instead of either addressing my argument or just ignoring me outright. I will not reply again unless it is to defend my football and SAFC opinions.
f***ing hell mate! If you were chocolate……

There is an element of our support that consistently belittles the contribution and growth of one of our longest serving and most admired players.
I don't understand why some people can't accept that O'Nein has always risen to the challenge over successive seasons.
He may not be physically able to play over a season at centre back in the Premier League, but the idea that he should be written off without kicking a ball is repugnant and frankly offensive.
He's broken the self congratulating know nowts who think every opinion they post is golden.

If we are relying on O'nien, a player who was directly responsible for conceding 8-9 goals in each of the last 2 seasons at championship level, we are truly, truly, knackered.
That's because every time we conceded a goal with him on the pitch you would come up with some incredible mental acrobatics to try and blame him.
Genuinely weird fan behaviour, can you just not admit you were wrong to write him off in League one FFS?

It’s almost as though some people seen us get promoted and thought right he’s got to go. Glad the club kept faith him and rewarded him with a very very well deserved new deal. If he never kicked another ball for us he’d go down as a club legend.
It's a bizarre lack of foresight, understanding and an unwillingness to accept you can ever be wrong. No player can ever develop no player can make the step up after coming from they lower leagues (Kevin Phillips and Jamie Vardy to name a couple). According to some once you've been deemed shite you can never improve and therefore are shite forevermore

I'm sure Luke will be thrilled that you are so concerned for his well being that you'd rather he didn't play. Bet you are on his christmas card list
Problem is people like you are mixing up being supportive with being understanding of the levels of the game

All the “give him a go” merchants would be on his back very quickly if, as I would expect, it went badly

I can never tell if you’re on a wind up, or are just a bit touched.

Theres nothing outside the box about criticising Onien like.

I’m disagreeing with you mate

I can’t see anything in his game that suggests he would cope

I would love, absolutely love to be wrong - but unfortunately I’m not

He would be outclassed, outpaced and it would be awful to witness

He would try so hard his eyes would pop out

He’s performed better than Ballard last two seasons and was better - low bar, admittedly - when we’ve played the Mags.

Do people on here really think defending is just athleticism? Is it because Dan is big and Luke a bit smaller? Don’t get it.

He’s been a top Championship centre back for three seasons and gets written off as if he’s still the League One midfielder we signed. He may not make it, but the airy dismissal is completely unwarranted.

Ok I will counter your claim that Onien has been personally responsible for 8-9 goals in each of the last two seasons by saying I disagree with this. My view is that all players will make an occasional mistake which can lead to a goal but Onien has not been the worst offender of n the team by far. I would also say that he has prevented far more goals by his play and contributes significantly in our style of attack.
If your claim is as considered as you claim, you will be able to identify which goals he was personally responsible for and why. If you can’t, then your claim is invalid.

Because he’s small.

Ridiculous.
