Newcastle United 🇸🇦 v 🔴 Liverpool EPL Sky Sports Main Event/Sky Sports Premier League Kick off 20:00

Oh and the missus said I was singing livvvvverpool livvvvverpool at 4.30 this morning in me youngest sons bedroom to which I woke both him and his girlfriend up…I don’t believe her and told he to fuck off and she’s not speaking to me along with the rest of the street also….🤷🏻‍♂️

Why will it be the same for you?
Perhaps it’s a case of realising that, when playing the better sides, increased intensity is the only way to not get humped. Nothing to do with Cup Final nonsense but playing to the quality of the opposition. It’s hardly shocking to suggest a team needs to be a lot better to get a result against Liverpool than they do Brentford, for example.

Red all day. Awful challenge. No need to go it at that pace.

I assume the lad from Palace is the plan.
Thought Konate been poor in both games.
Of course it’ll be the same against us. You’re a team that celebrated knocking us out the FA cup with dressing room pictures.

Gets you as far as the Premier League accepting an illegal takeover.

You'd think people didn't watch football. VAR will ask the ref to have another look if it is deemed appropriate. It will not make the decision for the ref. I mean the fact the ref goes over to look himself should be a big clue
If you mean the Gordon challenge, I have just watched the highlights as finished at 2pm and that tackle was dangerous as feck. How anyone can say Gordons Red was harsh I w don't understand. They zoomed in on it and VVD had stud marks raked down his calf all the way. To land your tackling foot that high and follow through means VVD is a very lucky bloke to not have a season ending injury there. It was a diabolical tackle TBH

First off, hello to the lurking mags as they're not all members here but they'll still be reading this thread and going back and reporting to their forum cronies 🤪

To be fair, they've got a point about the push by Konate as he does push him 2 hands yet they didn't even get a free kick. Take off the red n white specs It's one of those that sometimes the ref gives and sometimes he doesn't but if that was Mayenda getting shoved then we'd be wanting a foul. As for a red, they could argue that Konate is still close enough to put a tackle in IF he doesn't push him so I don't think it would be given as a DOGSO.

Also conveniently forgetting they should have had two bookings in the first few minutes. This cartel nonsense is going to send them to the psychiatric ward

Huddled in the corner of their padded rooms. It's the cartel. It's the cartel.

Though I think the mags got away with just as much from what I've seen. This was a yellow card all day long and the ref was right there. His boot is well high and he's jumping off the deck and makes contact with Gakpo's head. Just because he's bent over a bit doesn't mean it's OK. It's the fact it was the 2nd minute that he's bottled giving the yellow.

I hadn't see this one but skipping the game I presume this is the 2nd one you're talking about? It's after 4 mins 9 seconds as Trippier goes for Wirtz's foot with his studs up and ends up raking down also as that's not how you'd go in to kick the ball.

This is the Gordon one and all this shite about pulling out is that, shite. You can see the initial contact is fully studs up (paused in both angles for couple of seconds) and then raked down the calf. He's nowhere near the ball as he's gone in to leave one on VVD all day long but fucked it right up. The pulling out is just him protecting his mush from clattering into VVD and turning his body away but AFTER the raking of VVD's calf

Ok Rob you may just want to calm it down a little bit marra

Enjoyed last night and in particular the young mans winner bustling into the net, but it was tinged with the sadness that we are going to get humped twice off them this season.

First time I’ve actually watched the scruffs since we were last in the PL and unfortunately they’re miles ahead now. Arnly took half a billion blood money to achieve it mind.
We🤣

Definitely a red and definitely 2 yellows for the other 2 fouls

The Trippier one, seen loads of red cards dished out for exactly the same, studs up right into the shin.

Did you not watch us play them in the cup last year? They outdid us but we’re going to have a much better team this time round. Also, they won’t get so intense with us anyway. Liverpool are their real rivals now. They aren’t arsed about us at all.

Of course it’ll be the same against us. You’re a team that celebrated knocking us out the FA cup with dressing room pictures.
My bad. Apologies. I thought, with no logic obviously, that you were a Villa fan.
Of course it will be the same. It’s the Derby. The biggest game of the season. I expect nothing less than 90 minutes of the same intensity shown last night. Anything less is unacceptable.

Agreed. I think it's not been helped VVD (apparently) subsequently saying a yellow would've sufficed.

But yes, I don't know where people are coming from with the anti VAR patter. In real time the ref might not have fully appreciated how bad it was. VAR can look at it. And then ask the ref to have another look. All of which happened.

Upon seeing it again the ref would've had to have been blind to not think it was a red.

The system worked perfectly, allowed the referee to make a call with clear vision on it, and resulted in the correct decision.

Winners of the ‘we beat Arsenal’ trophy. It’ll be a different story this season, they’re built like Stoke City now
And the Micky Mouse Cup, sir!
Yes I agree they will be a different proposition this season. For the first time in years they have an actual striker.

The Trippier one was also studs up and possible red
