Jhon Lucumi - Transfer Rumour

Because he's never really played CB in a back four.

Alright then, play Trai there.

I actually think some of his best games for the club came there, he was a warrior there in our run to the play-offs 2023.

Seelt is a liability we can’t afford, he was culpable in both goals v Burnley. We have a Champions League experienced defender joining and people are saying don’t find a way to get him on the pitch, keep playing Jensen?

Bollocks to that, it’s one game.

Uncle Tony would have wispa’d in Big Jhon’s ear, encouraged him to Breakaway from Bologna, told him it wasn’t right he was being paid Buttons, and that he’d quickly be Nestled in with the rest of the boys if he joined, before personally delivering him to the training ground in his Galaxy.

After handing him his new No 6 Kit and a companion for his new home, a black Kat.

We are still pushing though - must be some encouragement. Doesn’t seem that we’ve walked away. Fact we need a centre half if Ballard is out as well, we cannot really just let this drag and not get him. Put ball in their court and then if it’s a definitive no, move to next target.

Smart arse 😂 Happy to welcome O’Nien back in tbh. He’s not going to start but happy for him to be backup.
If the 'back-up' isn't good enough to start, then they aren't good enough to be back-up either. As we are on the brink of possibly seeing, an injury can mean an extended run in the team for players considered as 'back-up'.

People imagine that a back-up player will be used to come on in the 75th-80th minute of a game to give the first choice player a bit of a rest (the 'they'll get minutes' argument). The reality is that injuries and suspensions force the manager's hand to pick the back-up to start games.

Incidentally, I have a sneaking suspicion that O'Nein will make the step up and not let anyone down, if selected.

Agree on O’Nein. He’s a decent back up imo.

Mind you, the article does say "His ability to play out cleanly from defence gives Mowbray the flexibility to evolve their build-up" 🤣
Uncle Tony is back giving them all a kick up the arse with a handful of Jaffa Cakes
