He had the match winning innings after some steady innings then got dropped next game. They quoted illness but then Freddie let slip on sky that they were going to drop him and bring back the overrated David Miller anyway. With the Northern Batterychargers but after 2 good innings hasn't appeared in last 3 games which suggests he's injured.
I mean we scraped into 4th last season in the shite north group because other results went out way on the final day. We all laughed at our luck on here.Shite performance aye
Just find it unusual I get stick for not being critical. I agree
Im not doubting your support for Durham here as I know you’re one of the best, but for a day out with my mates and the chance to win a trophy for Durham, that’s a rare thing, I’d pay much more than that.
These things don’t happen every year
We are a good t20 team too, have been for 2 seasons now
Very frustrated with Gay myself, I can’t remember a batsman being so hit and miss
A proper county cap for a loanee in the List A.You must be logged on to see media items

That's like claiming we were a good side under Bruce when on the final day we sneaked into 10th.
We were largely crap again in a crap north group. Had a chance of first and an actually winnable tie but bottled that against Notts and Lancs. A great result against Northants in the end to claim a home QF granted.
Somerset,Surrey and Hampshire are all miles ahead of anything in the North group.
I'm going to Hampshire and if I'm not on holiday will go to finals day in event we make it.
But I give us a 1% chance of beating Hampshire. If the game had been played the weekend after reaching the QFs we'd have had a more of a chance. The gap has meant they've had a side largely playing a similar format, whereas our side have struggled and lost confidence in the One Day Cup. We ain't just going to turn it on.
If we make the QF of the Blast, get relegated and finish 6/9 in the One Day Cup. That's an awful season and worse than last year.
I think you should just stick everyone on ignore tbh. That’s just a ridiculous post like not worthy of response
So we were shite both seasons despite making the quarter finals?
I mean what is wrong with people? How can anyone just twist and make up stuff this much just to fit their agenda?
Really really poor post this and kind of makes me a bit disillusion with people in general
@Parkside this is what I’m talking about btw, you won’t convince me this is not overly negative just for the sake of it this post, yours a more well reasoned I accept and not like this, but this is just ridiculous
Very very harsh and IMO untrue to say we were largely crap in the Blast this year.I mean we scraped into 4th last season in the shite north group because other results went out way on the final day. We all laughed at our luck on here.

Talk about having plenty of money to spare!

Your only happy when people agree with you. And abuse when they don't.
It's why you get banned constantly and have to keep coming back with a new alias. I'm surprised this one has last as long as it has.

We only lost 5 out of 14 games and finished second in the groups. We played some great stuff especially at home where we nearly finished with a 100% record out of games actually played.

Like in previous seasons far too many games where our sort of score is in that 150 odd mark.
It can be good enough to beat teams in the North group. It's not good T20 cricket if your compare it to what you see in other leagues and the southern group.
The fact the North group has so few teams making finals day and winning is a sign of it. You can only beat what's in front of you though.

The fact the North group has only We're a one dimensional side
You can only beat what's in front of you surely? And I can't agree that we should be judging our season on what's happening in the other group. We did well in most of the games we played and only lost 5 out of 14 games.
We had 6 scores in that 150 mark but we also scored over 200 twice (one with over three overs to spare), 190 odd once and 180 odd twice. Our batting was much better this season than it has been in the past.
I also can't agree about us being one dimensional this season. Both bat and ball have won us games.

Your first two paragraphs are more than fair. For me though, I still think we played a lot of very good stuff throughout the competition.I hit send too soon by accident.
Your first points exactly what I went on to say.
I was going to say we were being one too dimensional earlier in group and a continuation of last year. Our bowling was saving our batsman a lot of that time. We were not hitting many sixes, not opening up certain scoring options
Our improvement in the group towards end in our home games was huge. Lees especially who's shot selection had a complete flip and was playing some great paddles etc. Ackers too with his destructiveness that came from nowhere after a really bad time prior to Notts.
I come at things from a more glass half empty approach. As do a lot on this forum in a cricket and football perspective. The great thing is we can disagree.
I honestly don't see how we get past Hampshire. The gap has done us absolutely no good. But T20 is the format most likely for shocks. I shall be delighted and shocked if we do get to finals day.
I really hope we do and stay up in the CC. That seems unlikely too.
The point that's led us to this current discussion is the feeling it's been a bad season. I don't think you can sit and say our current position in all 3 comps is a good season.
The reality is then we could have a fantastic season or a disastrous season but in order to do the former we simply have to win our next T20 game to have even the slightest chance of winning that competition and probably 2 out of 3 CC fixtures in order to stop up both of which seem a very tall order right now sadlyYour first two paragraphs are more than fair. For me though, I still think we played a lot of very good stuff throughout the competition.
And of course our position in the other two competitions isn't good and that's a result of both poor cricket on the pitch and poor, muddled decisions off it.
But, we still have a chance at winning a trophy and staying up and that would be a fantastic season IMO.
