Jhon Lucumi - Transfer Rumour

Nah. If he can do it for you he can do it to you. Let’s do things the right way.
He wouldn't have to do it for us, our ownership do not hold players hostage if they want to leave, as they know it's completely pointless. I can't recall who from the leadership said it, but one of them said we won't stand in any players way if they want to go.

If the club received a low offer in the future and the player then went on strike to get that move, would that be fine?

All hypothetical anyway, haven’t even signed him

This isn't a low offer though. 30 odd million for a 27 year old defender at a mid level Italian club is fair.
Exactly the point I made in my original post. There’s no need to go on strike. It’s a good offer. Personally wouldn’t be that pleased if he went on strike to force a move but that’s just me.

Obviously SAFCs mantra includes the caveat that the offer has to be reasonable and sensible. But I don't find these hypothetical fantasies useful, I would judge each situation according to the many nuances and merits.

In Lucumi's case this does not appear to be what's happening, we look to have offered more or less what he's worth.

I think letting a player leave who wants to leave, when a solid offer has been made, is the sensible action.
