The guy Andy who posted 3million a yr said netWith "net" do you mean tax free?
Just seen that, spoke very highly of himTalking about him on SSN now, saying what a good player he is![]()
Yeah - if we triggered the release clause, we would have had to pay the fee upfront. Now we can negotiate a deal in instalments, like you say, to help us with spread the deal over 5 years.Am I right in thinking that if we'd bid and triggered the release clause, and had it accepted, before the the clause expired, we'd have had to pay in a lumper but as we've waited, we can pay in installments? Also, this helps us regarding PSR?

We’d have still been shitPoor Mick. Imagine what he could have done with this warchest. John Stead and Christian Basilla eat yer hearts out
Fair comment. Just had a daft moment there! It’s been out in the open for about a month on this board
You think sunderland fans knew we wanted him, but DOF’s from around Europe didn’t?
Think it will average out across the squad at around 40-50k/week. So say 2.5m year x 25. Just over 60m/year on first team player salaries. Think we’re OK.

I'm definitely more comfortable with a lack of ambition...I'm waiting for someone to tell me it's all a jokeWaited a lifetime -more than half a century- for this ambition-it's hard to take in.

Yeah but then I suppose he put a bit of context around where they might both fit injust seen that. spoke really well of him but seemed surprised we were still moving for him after signing Alderete
Paying in installments vs up front doesn't matter from PSR perspective, just changes cash flow.Am I right in thinking that if we'd bid and triggered the release clause, and had it accepted, before the the clause expired, we'd have had to pay in a lumper but as we've waited, we can pay in installments? Also, this helps us regarding PSR?
Not quite...it's not how much you pay up front it's how you account for it. A 5 year contract means the outlay is divided into 5 years...£20m purchase would be £4m a yearAm I right in thinking that if we'd bid and triggered the release clause, and had it accepted, before the the clause expired, we'd have had to pay in a lumper but as we've waited, we can pay in installments?
