Greek Island Holiday Help

Last month, we went to Kardamena in Kos which was better than expected. Loads of nice restaurants along the main waterfront and the streets just off it. Found two great bars; the Stone roses bar which looks great (nowt to do with the one in York) and one called the Bands. 4 euros a pint. Would go back next week if possible. Off to Lassi in Kefalonia again in a few weeks so hopefully it hasn't been affected by the fires near Argostoli.
What hotel did you stay in?
We are looking to go here next year.

To be honest, I would only do Greece/Greek isles b&b or self catering as there are loads of great restaurants and bars normally. Each to their own. Understandable if kids are going as well to save a bit cash.
Just the two of us but we also like a good few days lazing around the pool.
We do go out as well but this works out the better option for us.

We do sc with a 10 and 8 year old - cheap as chips to eat out, kids aren't pigs, free sunbeds on the beach so ideal

That's where we have shortlisted. What type of room did you have? We'd be getting an apartment rather than a studio.
It was an apartment. Its like a lot of hotels though, loads of similar rooms but some you don't want to get as they may be noisy, no balcony, next to the kids play area etc. Ours just happened to have a poor view from the balcony. They offered to change us but couldn't until the last two days of the holiday so we just stayed in the original room.
Im regetting letting the missus talk me into Lassi over Kardamena more and more the more you post
Both are canny. Kardamena is bigger and has loads of bars and restaurants whereas Lassi has a fair few, just not as many.

Cheers. The reviews say just that, rooms are a mixed bag. Only a week I suppose, its on the list for sometime in the future

Looking at Greece next year. First visit was to Athens in 1989 .

We looking at flying to Chania then onto Milos , other suggestions from Milos please .
These days want it quiet as possible, not interested in Mykonos or Santorini .

Looking at 18 days ish . Flight back from Chania .

Love using boats , this maybe my last adventure before we get too old .

Sounds good ,is it boat to milos?
All I'll say is you can do an adventure on Crete with a bit planning .It's got killer beaches,(balos) ancient towns ( gouverneto monastery) ,lunar landscapes , gorges and more . Some nice boat and trek only type beach, hotel spots ( loutro ) etc . Could rent a car or move around by boat trips etc . The mountain villages are untouched and very friendly
I'm off to chania 22nd for 25 days moving around ,go every year , always something new to discover.
Sounds like you'll have fun planning

We’re currently in Sifnos, been here three nights, one more tomorrow. Lovely place, nice and quiet. We’re staying in the port which has around 5/6 tavernas, all the food has been great, known as the foodie island. Good bus network as well makes it easy to get around, few other beaches you can get to. We got here on ferry from Athens but it’s next stop is Milos so it’s on the route

Kos Town is a cracking place. Loads of good eateries. We were AI on the hillside last summer but we ended up getting taxi into town about 5 nights out of 7.
