I think what itches is perhaps the reason he isn't wanted is that they're cautious of the pull he would have and see it as distracting from others. Who knows, not the end of the world, I just think it would have been hugely helpful to realiseing the potential of so many of our players.

That’s half my point. I wouldn't want him here to play every week, but theres a spell where he would undoubtedly need to. In the mean time, and during that period, i can't think of a better personality / attitude to have in the dressing room. Saudi shite aside, he's been a model professional everywhere he's been.

I'm sure he knows why tuchel had included him and its not for his on-pitch contribution. Its the reason so many here (and likely at brentford) wanted him to sign. His influence in the dressing room, leadership qualities and his reputation for setting and enforcing standards.
 
I wonder if Henderson is / was surprised we werent interested in him ?......its a bit of a snub for him i think...certainly I would take it that way if i were him

....but perhaps we were interested but only until we knew of his demands ?
