With Mukiele able to play centre back and with O’Nien to come back (he obviously is going to be in the picture given the contract), it would seem a bit excessive to recruit another centre back.

Our method is going to be sitting deep and countering. Ballard and Alderete are in possession and, on first impressions at the level, they’ll do well.

I think the result yesterday will have banished any apprehension potential signings may have had about joining a ‘relegation’ favorite.
Very difficult to drop either of Ballard or Alderete.
Mukiele will have to be like reincarnated Maldini to dislodge Hume or either of Ballard/Alderete
Reinaldo is LB for keeps
A good loan of an up and comer with an option to buy would be my preference
Use any money we have to buy Bowen from WHU

Only got a year left, could be another bargain to be had. Standards have been raised now, let seelt go on loan and play 30-40 games
 
don't think we need this shit fucker anymore. Move for Zhegrova/back in for Lauriente/mystery man and possibly a striker and I will be confident for the season.
 
i still think we could do with another centre back but I'm not sure i'd now be spending 20m plus on one with Alderete and seemingly Mukiele coming in. Ballard does have a bit of a tendency to pick up injuries. maybe try and pick someone up on loan towards the end of the window

would rather the bulk of whatever we have left to spend goes on a striker/winger. then again have no idea what we have 'left' to spend and we might sign both :lol:

3 options/back ups for the back line takes us to a different level.

Not only does it give insurance against injuries which will happen. But it will give Regis options to play 3 at the back with wingbacks.

Le Fee may need to play left at times like yesterday. Rigg on the right. Both without being out and out wingers.

Having all the options of 451/351/442/433 means we can be so pragmatic.

This could be our superpower in this league. Look at Amorim who is married to a rigid way of playing. Potter yesterday couldn't change his way of playing yesterday.

I think Lucumi could be a very big part of the team.

Id prefer to do that now. Not sure who. The only available cbs i have any knowledge of both play for chelsea and we can't loan them.

Yeah, a £30m+ winger will be more important at this point.
I think we can get Lucumi for £9m in January or for free next summer if he's that eager to join. 😎

O’Nien’s injury could keep him out for a while. He’ll be happy to fight his way back. As such I’d say he should probably be our fifth CB. Ballard and Alderete are the first choice pairing. Are Seelt, Hjelde and Alese good enough for 2/3 to fill the other spots?
I think all three might but injuries and game time mean they’re all a risk. I think looking at loans for two of them and signing another CB makes perfect sense to me.
 
I still think we've brought in Mukiele to mainly play right down the right - defence and more forward, and another CB will come in, which I'd still like Lucumi in for tbf. After that it'll be one wing/forward type and we'll be sorted

I don't think he'll come to sit on the bench, out two CBs are sorted.
 
I think alderete showed exactly what we are missing. An injury to Omar or Ballard and we’d be seriously exposed. Would like to baluster the defence and get another world class cb in. After all our whole game is based around defence and soaking the pressure. We can’t do that if we are missing key player to injury or other..
