Does anyone think we stay up?

On paper the squad we have this year should be leagues ahead of the ones that went up. On ability, I say we should stay up.

But football isnt that simple. Loads of new faces, new personalities and attitudes. If RLB can get them playing, im confident were safe with games spare.

But our success last year was as much about team spirit, dedication and "till the end'. As much as it was ability. If we lose that, if theres personality clashs and RLB cant get everyone on the same page? Who knows

None of us have seen how well Regis will evolve his tactics and style for the EPL and none of us have seen how this team will compete and adapt, but crikey, we are going for it more than any other promoted team ever has.

I’m quietly confident we’ll stay up, think we’ll surprise a few. Think it’ll be a slow start, but we’ll get better as the season progresses due to the amount of new faces.

It's hard to say because it's a massive task and for all the transfer dealings we've done which to me looks like sound business, there's still a lot of unknowns in the group. The majority of the squad have never played at this level before. A lot of them are really young too (existing members of the squad and new signings). Experience like Xhaka is huge mind and hopefully he can help the group through tougher moments. I just think it depends how they adapt.

Looking at the players we have signed I’m far more optimistic than I was after the play off final victory, but as some prestéis have mentioned to do this we need a proper goalscorer to add to the squad. I know Openda has been mentioned and although that seems like a pipe dream, but imagine this side with someone of his calibre firing the goals in for us. Mayenda,Isidor,Guiu I don’t see the same strike rate.

What is interesting is I've seen most British journo's and ex players say we'll go down and a few European ex players and journo's suggest the opposite.
Effectively the argument is that most people here haven't seen much of our players and in effect, they are really good.

Below being an example...

I was at the play off final wow one of the best days ever. My first game watching the lads was Gillingham away in the okay off when we lost 3-2. My dad announced we were going with my Mum and we literally paid on the door wow!

The betting markets gave us about 12 points off safety coming 19th.

What’s the vibe everyone?

Personally I think without someone who can score goals we will go down. But there’s hope for us all and the next few games will tell us whether we have any chance of staying up !
I can’t decide if you’re a mag or not, I’ll get back to ya

I think we'll stay up

This lot have been smarter then many have given them credit for and they have gone as guns blazing as they tend to go

And if we don't we won't have died wondering

The 'ambitious project' talk all summer long from the club leads has me thinking they would be disappointed in finishing lower than 15th.

It is going to be hard. Think we are up for the fight. Better team than I expected us to have.
