Jhon Lucumi - Transfer Rumour

I think I read their manager wants two in every position and - as things stand - they’re the two for that role. They’d need to buy again for lucumi to move
True, I think he's letting his bosses know what he expects. One of them will miss games they don't want to miss. It's difficult to keep high value players happy in these situations.

On occasion he certainly has for Preston and us a couple times...but listing him as an option in the Premier league is certainly a choice...
He was shit for us in the championship could you imagine Gordon or Rodgers never mind the elite players against hi

It's one thing a midfielder stepping into a good side at fullback in the championship, but he should be nowhere near a PL side nevermind a back up option at right back.

He's far too limited to play at the top level.

I said “That’s why some people are suggesting specifically a right sided CB who could cover RB”

Because that player could then play CB or RB if needed

If you look at our expected starting line up, two of the players from last season are next to each other. It’s not surprise people are saying our next signing to improve the team should be in that area. A left footer improves CB but doesn’t improve RB

Yes Browne can play RB, like Jones can play LB (who I didn’t include in the list) - but no offence to them, I don’t think we should seriously be counting on them as players this season

Again - within the first XI, no issue with two left footed centre backs. But in the context of our squad it’s really easy to understand why some want specially a right footed CB who can cover RB
How many cb realistically cover full back well though. We need another quality cb and I wouldn’t want to narrow down the pool of cb we are looking at because they have played a handful of games at right back in their career. I think due to Ballards injury record just getting a quality CB, regardless if he can play rb is more pressing. If that means we need to go and sign another specialist right back to compete with Hume then so be it.

Yes we don’t agree, which is fine!

I totally get why any CB would be desired. I also understand why others want a right sided specialist
