Of corse the premier league is a different animal. No argument there from me.

See comments on YouTube fan pages,
But I don't wanna hijack this thread so we will just have to agree to disagree and if he does get minutes then I hope I'm coming on here grovelling.

Not disagreeing wit that, but the premier league is a completely different animal, we all have our views but the vast majority of fans who have seen him call him calamatous, and although I wouldn't go that far I do think he will be the weakest link.
 You've just made that up, you can't possibly have canvassed the vast majority of fans that have seen him () ... have you?

You’re right we do all have our views but that is absolute bollocks. The vast majority call him calamitous, ffs.

I don’t think for a second he will get to play as much as he did.
But that doesn’t for a second diminish what I think about his contribution and commitment to us and his role going forward.

Hopefully Onien is kept well away from 1st 11 and even subs bench, he simply is not good enough.

He’s been better than Ballard the last two years, not sure why that wouldn’t continue.

Will give a good account of himself.

Honestly can’t understand how someone can support our club and not just love the lad. He’s done more than anyone to drag this club out of its worst ever period. He’s a Sunderland f***ing hero. Statue him.

The same sort of poster who says “oh I’m not bothered about the result just give me 11 players who’d bust a gut for the shirt”.

If we’d had more players the like of O’Nien in the past then we’d never have ended up where we were.

From driving up, so chuffed he videoed packing his car, to being hauled off on his debut, against Charlton, admitting he wasn’t good enough, and working/training so hard to improve himself.

The vast majority of fans do not call him calamitous at all. The premier league may prove to be a step too far for him but it really wouldn’t surprise me if he does well although it’s unlikely he will be a first choice centre half.
