Durham's one day cup campaign

Some of the young bowlers are nowhere near good enough a couple will struggle to have decent club careers. Rhodes doing everything himself.

I just don’t get picking such a weak attack if got resting players for T20 and championship not that I think we should.

Rest everyone not this half and half.

Clearly struggled in the 4 day stuff but been outstanding and very consistent in both forms of one day cricket this season. Wont be enough today but he's had a very good game.
Had a rough run in the 4 day stuff to start but clearly has the credentials to show a return in all forms for Durham
Yes, it's a strange one. Bowling coach is an international cricketer who developed through our own academy yet even established bowlers like Potts have regressed.
It’s a shame our better bowlers have all been contracted to the 100 stuff, even if they carry the bottles. We might not see the return but this is when the younger bowlers get game time

Rew brothers will both play for England
Well they both seem to know how to bat in a manner appropriate to the game situation. That rules them out for Bazball.

However pessimistic me thinks that if we have a nightmare this winter and/or Stokes breaks his body and can't lead the team, then James looks next in line to replace either Pope or Crawley

Good for him that he backed up his 96 with a hundred in the next match.....similarly getting wickets after his 5 for on tuesday. Positive contributions consistantly is exactly what Durham need to get the results they need to stay in CC1 etc
V pleased for him. He’s obviously a decent player and hopefully we can now get the best out of him. I wondered whether his move to the NE had unsettled him a bit - he’d been at Warks a canny while?

Very fair point. Any move to a new club a player will be anxious to impress which will affect his natural game and will be compounded as the bad trot continues. Problem is if this good form continues there'll be orders from above that he's developed an injury.

Or he'll be off to The Northern Super Monster Munchers.

Glad to be proved wrong as I had not seen anything in him previously and wondered why he'd been recruited. Ah kna nowt me.

Might as well not bother we the squads we are picking play the entire seconds if you have no interest which we clearly don’t!

Hardly any batting and the bowling is utter rank. Seen some really bad bowlers for Durham over the years but struggling to think of one worse than Luke Robinson.
