My take

All the media was playing hard ball similar to Xhaka and we’ve given them an offer they’re now happy with last week, which is when the news of the WBA defender broke and they started pushing a bit harder for the USG defender etc.

They agreed if they got someone in, but we’re starting to push them to get it sorted and they realise it’s a pretty high fee for someone who will diminish in value because of the contract situation and now considering selling

Now they’re meeting with Lucumi again, which now feels like he’s ready to leave

Nothing about our club makes me think we are in the slightest bit desperate about anything. The revitalisation of SAFC is anything but.

This. If we don't like certain terms we just won't take them. We saw that enough with the striker situation in the Championship.

I get the feeling we're not going to be ripped off and potentially effect several seasons financially just because we look short in a position for one season.

It's stressful at the time, but refreshing as fuck with hindsight - I imagine this will feel the same.

We have our first game in a weeks time and currently are playing a LB at CB and a kid who I believe didn’t start a single game last season at left back. We’re pretty desperate.

From his profile he won't be bought as the header winner, which will be Ballard and/or another signing. He is an elevated Onien who has brilliant passing stats over long and short distance with double the speed and bigger physical presence than Onien
