SOL expansion

You must be logged on to see media items

I'm sure towards the end of this video when stood in the ground they talk about it being raised to 54k

Mate, its not happening in the very near future. The club need to see the long term demand is there. And that needs us to be an established PL team. Its really as.simple as that no matter how much you post on here arguing the opposite.

I think your wrong mate if we stay in the prem this year and next they will expand the corporate offerings and the only sensible way to do that and yes it may shock you it will involve future proofing it will involve expanding either the south or east stand ! I doubt they will do it with the sole purpose of adding extra seats but as a byproduct of corporate expansion as it will be the cost effective thing to do ..and i would seek help for your empty seat phobia!

The club were very clear with what they said. They need to know there is the long term demand for additional seats before committing to it. That wont be there after potentially surviving one season in the PL. You're completely removed from both economic reality and the intentions of the club if you think otherwise. Its not happening in the next 12 months, simple as that. Re. your last point, grow up.

Bruce simply stated the pc line mate ! the plans are there mate bob mentioned it in his book and kld obviously want safc to compete and that will involve extending the ground for corporate and probably extra seats ..not in the next 12 months thats for sure but within the next five years deffo !If you think small you stay small!and please stop the insults !..In early June did you think KLD would sanction spending over 120 million on players?if so hats off to you cos you were the only one!KLD has ambitions for this club !its about time some fans caught up with the project!

We’re going to need at least 55k for next season’s champions league campaign so might as well crack on! 😉

Record attendance at Roker was 75k (probably under cooked in those days due to tax implications)

The Bank of England club is back so we best all buckle up for the ride and welcome some new passengers on board!

They were fairly high

But please don't deny that following relegation in the past crowd figures have dropped drastically
I think it’s natural to expect a reduction so yes, I agree that would happen but perhaps not 10k+ lower.
Anyway, let’s hope we don’t find this out next season.

Like every other club mate ! why are leeds expanding to 55000 if they get relegated they wont fill it either but it doesn't appear to bother their owners or fans ?Leeds are building for success within the budget they can afford and bugger the lean times ..infrastructure improvement always get cheaper as time passes! The north stand extension was done for the price of a decent championship striker today!

Ah so we've gone from staying up this year and we'll extend to it happening in the next 5 years.

Re. insults. None have come from me.

Their demand is a lot deeper and more sustained than ours though.

They've sold out 2x friendlies at 52k each, we got 13k for our home friendly despite momentum being about as high as it can get. That points to a much higher underlying demand which would justify a big outlay in increasing capacity.

It's a similar story for cup games.

A big part of that is they have 10s of thousands of people who know a friendly is basically there only chance of getting to see a game, whereas with us pretty much everyone who wants to go either already has a season ticket or knows there'll be plenty of games where they'll be able to pick up on of the matchday sales tickets.

I wouldn't bank on demand increasing if we establish ourselves either. Forward momentum is what increases demand and you can't have that indefinitely. We've seen loads of teams, including us, who a few years earlier would have snapped your hand off for regular mid table finishes but after a few years get bored of it quite quickly and demand starts to fall off.
The Saudi demand is ridiculous now given they gave away 10000 free season tickets not so long back.

Spot on. I think we're going to need to extend the stands as far as Sunderland North Airport. Anything below 200,000 capacity and the season ticket waiting list will create catastrophic global warming due to the felling of forests worldwide to meet the paper demands of the waiting list.
Build a Mono Rail to the SOL and the fans will fill come and fill up the expansion.
But lock the gates until 5pm or it will be half empty on 80 minutes as people rush to beat the mono rail jam.
