I disagree, if we stay in the Premier League we will extend - David Bruce talked about completing Bob Murray's vision only a couple of days ago.

Just can't see it in the short/medium term personally. They'll increase ticket prices first. If they get the prices to the max they can go without really moaning and there's a waiting list of 10,000 people, or whatever, then that's the time to extend imo.

Remember an extra £100 on every ticket (assuming 40k here with away etc) is the same as 5,000 people paying £800 and that's ignoring the cost of any extensions.

It needs a run of sell outs, and fast sell outs where people are struggling to get their ticket. That's from a business perspective, but as a fan I like that we have been able to get tickets easily, it means price rises are harder to justify.

Only way itll be done is if we continue to sell out, or we qualify for Europe and the club want to try and take that next leap to keep us contending up there regularly. I.e the way man city have done it (albeit on another level) with there away end expansion some years ago when they got successful and now they are managing to compete regularly in the CL (and won it) they now are expanding there home end seemingly over night. (Looks class like with the fan area behind)

You wait for the demand or you create it! you choose? ...leeds are going to extend their stadium next year to 55000 or so ....are they fools? or are they just future proofing?Infrastructure investment does not effect PSR so we need to expand as demand grows and make the sol a stadium fit for the 2030's...spurs and evertons stadium makes the sol look like a farm building and that needs to change or we will never improve!

So have Newcastle supposedly and they haven't extended this century! alan road has a capacity of nearly 37000 in 2018 their average home attendance was 33600 nee waiting list required then mate!Dont fall for the hype .oh and they aint a global behemoth either!

I remember reading they extended it initially despite not necessarily always selling out. As they thought extending it would essentially create the demand?

There’s not a lot of tickets available outside of season tickets now. I think we will need a few seasons of prem money to justify a significant investment in the ground and not just one or 2 . I love the idea but making sure it’s sustainable is important . Borrowing money to extend and not seeing a return is daft business and it’s bound to cost more to extend than it cost to build the ground
 
Surely any expansion we do would be about hugely increasing the corporate hospitality side of things rather than the number of seats for the regular fan. In time the demands of PSR will force us to chase the most profitable type of "fan" , and with 2 of our stands lacking any corporate hospitality facilities that's going to be where investment is focused. But we won't do it until demand is sustained, perhaps after 3 years established in the premier league and starting to challenge for top half and Europe?
