Sunderland railway station.

Must be making a couple of quid off that page

I think he's an ex-Sunderland University media studies grad who's decided to set up a rival version of Sunderland Echo. Like most of these social media pages he's gone down the route of writing stuff to trigger the most views rather than write anything objective. I've seen a couple of articles and the grammar etc was the stuff an 11yo would be embarrassed to put up.

It’s an utterly grim site. Posting shite about nonsense from all of the UK and the world with the sole aim of generating rage baiting comments.

Happy for him screenshot me again 👋

I remember it being open in the 90's but I think that was covered over with Nationwide/Poundland/CEX/Costa building,

The more I think about it the more and more it looks like we got the cheapest option possible, there is ways it could have been opened up etc.

The thing is the entrance apparently had £27m of funding, now I know sod all about commercial building works but comparing that to the £14m for Riverside MCP, £42m for City Hall, £36m for the Eye Infirmary, £27m for Culture House or even £8m for Tombola HQ, it doesn't look like we have got any value for money, especially when you think they kept the lifts and stairs in place, and built it on the previous foundations.

When it was open, the station won a Britain in Bloom(?) category award for it's flower displays - the sun actually lit up the platforms for a few hours of the day.

He posted the other day, purporting there was large cracks in the side of the new footbridge being built across the river. Clearly looking to start an agenda that the new bridge is knackered.

Looked like water run off to me.

Aye two pics, one zoomed in on them, with zero comment. Just rage baiting. His site is a load of shite.

Pretty sure he went to Durham and was a massive ukipper. Posted as Mr Oompapa before the pirate moniker.

It’s hilariously bad mind
Like an empty cattle shed that will start rusting in no time
But like most things that big orgs like network rail do in Sunderland - it’s about appeasement rather than progress. The station will always, always be crap.
Just glad the council have their act together and are making positive strides across the rest of the city.

Aye, it's a monetized page now so the more comments/sharable content on there the more money they make.

They'll be doing a decent wedge now. Fair play, found a gap in the market and probably making a living from it. That's before the advertising costs.

That’s it in a nutshell really. I should just block it instead of trawling through it and getting annoyed at the comments.

I blocked that SGM site as it’s really grim. Some people seem to think it is a genuine respectable journalistic news outlet!

Still can’t believe that there is nothing in the waiting area apart from a few seats.

Toilets were all locked up tonight (17:45), lots of people walked away. Some went to ask the security guard to open the disabled toilet so they could use that.

No bins

Just an absolutely soulless place. Such a shame
