Robin Roefs 🇳🇱 compendium

I’m sure Ramsdale isn’t as poor as we are making out. He might do well at the scum as they defend very well.
But after 5-6 seasons of consistent premier league football and some at a top side in Arsenal I can’t name his one strength.
He was an absolutely mental signing for Southampton as he doesn’t seem to save many shots which is something I crazily think keepers should do.

I can’t compare him to our new one as I’ve never heard of or seen him play, and to be hyper critical of speakman it’s the one position he’s struggled to buy in quality before- maybe the new bloke and the data point this way.

Time will tell, but as usual we are buying with the potential at the back of our minds and clear improvement as the plan- what is ramsdales upside? Being British?

His stats are similar to pattos and in a similar leauge like... see how he gets on.

Loads doing the rounds on WhatsApp about patto at the min in the dog house to say the least

From the data I compared there wasnt much in them, all be it that it was 5 minutes of research.

I do wonder how much of those stats are down to the way we play compared to how NEC play. The highlights I watched I couldnt believe how many crosses NEC let in, goal was constantly peppered unlike us which explains some of them stats like.

Stats are miles ahead of Pattos. Look at the graph I posted last page

Rumours are nonesense
His YouTube highlights reel is outstanding and it's all from last season, 37 games.

I like him but you couldn't make a reel like that for Patto across his entire career of 150+ games.

They look totally different levels.

To play devil's advocate as I said above. Do you not just think thats cos we dont play like NEC at the back

Bottom line is he's pulling off outstanding saves. There's some great reaction saves, not just the ball hitting him, he's moving his hand towards the ball. A couple of brilliant saves in the bottom corner that I personally don't think Patto could pull off.

He just looks a top class young keeper and his big strength is apparently commanding his box which isn't even on these clips.

His last save for us was a Gordon Banksesque bottom corner save iirc

Ha ha, how can you possibly say their stats are similar, they're miles apart. If they were similar we wouldn't be buying him, all our transfers are stat based.

Fingers crossed, can only be a good addition compared to what we already have anyway going off the saves in the clips. Fingers crossed the patto rumours aren't true and they can either compete together or we can get some cash in to balance the books.

As I say 5 minutes of research only, but judging pattos consistent 3 seasons against this lads one good season behind what looks like a very leaky defense on the clips. He does look solid and confident and we will welcome him.

Im not pattos biggest fan either like

Thing is Patto hasn't even been consistent over those 3 years.

He tends to have 1 outstanding game every few months and it masks all the errors in the games before it.

He is shit at crosses and can't kick a ball to save his life.

Granted he's a very good shot stopper, but there is more to being in goal than that.

He's not a premiership keeper

I still think we’ll see Patterson leave this summer and another keeper in addition to Roefs will come in to challenge for our number 1 position.
I hope not. I think Patto is a solid keeper who over the next few years has the potential to be a great keeper. And he’s a local lad who has been through the tough times with us. Oh, and he’s made world class saves that have won us 2 play off finals.

I hope this lad absolutely smashed it and becomes as loved as Sorenson was here but I can’t help feeling that of all the signings the club has made this summer he represents the biggest gamble.

If he’s going to be our number one it’s a big ask for a 22 year old to come into a premier league side expected to be fighting relegation when his relevant senior football experience amounts to one season in Holland.
