It's alright to keep chasing him but we *must* have other irons in the fire. We simply cannot start the season with the current defensive options.

No way have we agreed to put things on hold...with the season couple weeks away. This will either be more advanced than is being let on..or we have pulled away already.

Yep that’s it for me

Xhakas transfer took a month and all the media coming out of Italy and Columbia is the exact same as the Xhaka transfer was

The fact it’s gone on this long either means

A) the player is showing interest and we’re working on it

Or

B) media are well of we’ve moved on and we’re being used to try get him a transfer

I know it’s funny but I honestly did see someone say we’d spoken to Ben Mee. Free agent. “Experienced” I mean he should be he’s 35 🤣
 
Such a boring story. Compare it to Xhaka who, after just a slight delay, had his agent coming out in the media saying how badly he wanted to join. Not a single story on this so far saying he's keen. I trust the club but like....this has N'Dong/Kone levels of not giving a fuck about Sunderland to me.
 
i reckon if this isn't done over the weekend we'll get someone out the blue (to the media) in early next week like what happened with the keeper. really need something sorted with at least one CB as ideally we want one game next weekend to play what will presumably be the starting eleven come West Ham. we need two really but if we can get one to pair with Ballard in quickly at least we've covered off the glaring weaknesses in the starting team at least
 
Good players will have options so they're within their rights to consider them, it does appear we are the only club who have put a serious offer forward at this point though, so he is gambling a bit. Hopefully a resolution in the coming days either way so we can move on.

I am confident there'll be a CB through the door before the Augsburg game either way, it's the only glaring hole we have left.
