Robin Roefs 🇳🇱 compendium

It makes no sense to sign this lad if Patto is staying. No chance he can be. The club must think this lad has more potential. We now definitely need someone like Ortega to back this lad up and probably start the season as number one.
Dreamland. I'm in.

Mate, I live in Spain. I surf for SAFC stuff all the time. I get feeds all the time. A few I trust as not just speculative click-bait I do have a clear memory of seeing that and paying close attention. I can't remember the source though.
Was quoted as saying he'd had offers but had turned them down because this was the club he wanted.
I am ageing but I'm not at the stage yet (hopefully) where I dream things up and next day believe them to be reality.
Hope not anyway.
Happened to my Great-Auntie Ethel. Got confused later on. Thought Dixon of Dock Green had dirt on her.
Its not on the bbc or the official site or here. Like pretty sure it didn't happen.

Agree with your larger point though. Love Patto and feel he's been pretty hard done by being relegated to the bench by a younger, less experienced keeper.

It is odd, new lad looks to have a bright future but has only had 1 full season and moving to a new country it’ll be a big ask , I don’t rate patto anymore than average but he’s got a lot more pros than cons in terms of being ahead of the new lad

Not really. Ortega wouldn’t cost much and Leicester are after him. 25 games is all he’s played for Man City and he cost them nowt.

Aye we’d only sign this lad if we had someone else older lined up. We must be getting another keeper and I’d guess it’s on loan.

Reading through the NEC forum and what a lovely fanbase a few seem to be planning to come and watch us v Newcastle, I doubt they'll get tickets mind!

But they all seem to think they've got a great deal out of this which is slightly alarming, I mean none of them saying he's poor but think they're surprised after just one season he goes for that much

noooo m8! you guys don't have to feel alarmed. we feeling happy about the amount of money we'll get because it's doubling our transfer record. roefs is a super talented goalkeeper. always stays kalm no mather what situation. pretty alround, got a great pass with both left and right, but overall good at high crosses. sooo, it's a great deal for us, but for sunderland aswell. and we wish roefs well. cheers!

Tbf it's basically giving them more than their annual revenue in one sale. It's a much bigger fee for them than us.

Good.

There's an obscene amount of money swilling around the Premier League, making the player values and wages ridiculous.

My first preference is for us to develop our own players, but if we're buying it's good to see money going somewhere it'll have a huge impact.

As things stand, my uneducated guess would be:
  • First 2-3 keepers turned us down. They were all touted at +€20m
  • We probably have c. €70m left to spend
  • Spending €10m gives us an insurance policy if Patto isn’t good enough / lets this chap have a go being #1
  • Leaves us c. €60m left for 1/2 centre backs and/or a striker
Let’s not forget the Dutch league is pretty poor, Afonso Alves, Jozy Altitorde, Daly Blint etc. etc.

You cant put Daley Blind in same sentence as Jozt Altidore
