PSR becomes a reality concern IF we somehow manage to stay up. It’s certainly a pertinent question to ask when it comes to Neil, we don’t want him leaving for nothing. The inevitable "Patterson must be away" posts. How come every other position has 2 or even 3 players competing, yet it’s totally inconceivable that keepers should be same? Plus, Patterson is injured currently and rumours he could actually need an operation to sort it.
It’s KLDs brother doing it I bet you
Looks very DutchLooks like Paul hardyman
Our maximum allowed loss for PSR will increase significantly next season, so no reason to fear over that as of now.PSR becomes a reality concern IF we somehow manage to stay up. It’s certainly a pertinent question to ask when it comes to Neil, we don’t want him leaving for nothing.
You had me at “how much he comes off his line to grab a cross”Hello all, I've seen all of Roefs' senior team games as I have a season ticket at NEC. Made an account here as I wanted to see what y'all thought of him and will probably be following the club if he actually gets some time on the pitch.
So some context:
Roefs was always very highly rated in the academy at our club. Joined senior team training camps from age 16 for example. Last summer, we sold Jasper Cillessen (ex Barca, Valencia, Dutch national team and also from our youth academy) so that Roefs would get enough playtime.
Seen a lot of questions here on his passing and that his stats on this aren't great. This, in my opinion, is down mostly to our playstyle last year. We started out by playing from the back quite a bit, but then some of our best build up players got injured or lost form, so most of the season he was just told to hoof it long to strikers that generally weren't great at receiving those types of passes. I think with the right players around him at the back, he's above average on the ball. He's confident with both legs and generally has a decent to good pass. Also not shy
His main weakness last year was that we conceded 2 or 3 goals from direct free kicks where Roefs didn't look well-positioned. This was all in the first half of the season though and he seems to have learned from that.
Aside from that fact that he's obviously pretty good at saving shots, the thing that we always really liked in the stadium was how much he comes off his line to grab a cross. He does that way better than the far more experienced Cillessen.
I really look forward to seeing him in the PL, hopefully he becomes the first choice GK.
But but, Patto is from the academy, and he’s a nice lad, we should give him a chance etc

It's great to hear from somebody who has seen him many times live, because it totally chimes with a Cillessen/Roefs data checkThat is an interesting insight, because on all the highlights videos, you obviously only see the saves and he looks rooted to his line on those.

I don't quite follow that. You must be logged on to see media items
I think the latter but it’s not really very different.I don't quite follow that.
Does it mean we thought Lille were coming in astronomically so we just paid the asking price to get it done, or are they saying our €10.5m was astronomical compared to their asking price?
Yep confusing - if it was an astronomical offer why did they accept 10.5 from usI don't quite follow that.

After missing out on three targets they've done the right thing moving quickly for this one, no messingYou must be logged on to see media items

Yes I read it that we were the astronomical payer, but that doesn't tally with the figuresYep confusing - if it was an astronomical offer why did they accept 10.5 from us
€3 million add ons ?Yep confusing - if it was an astronomical offer why did they accept 10.5 from us
I read the article in Dutch. It is saying Sunderland bid more than the asking price of €10m (i.e. half a million more and another 3m in add-ons) to ensure he'd go here and not to another club.I don't quite follow that.

That's how I read it, they were expecting €10m all in and we went well over to make sure we could get it done and wouldn't be gazumped.Maybe €10m was their valuation with add ons? And we hit it off the bat, plus add ons?
