Is Keith Downie forgiven?

Never. He cried when murderers bought a club he claims not to support. He spent our league 1 years mocking us and taking digs on social media to play up to the mags. He’d only turn up to press conferences when things were going badly or when he wanted to put a negative spin on things. Non stop negative questions to new managers etc then never turning up to press conferences for months. I genuinely would have told sky to send someone else if you want Sunderland coverage. I couldn’t care less that he gets abuse from our fans. He made his bed over the last decade. Now he can lie in it.

The reason he didn’t cover us over recent years is simply sky don’t care about non premier league. Look at boro now, other than a couple of tweets they get nothing.

His love for the mags as a little bit strange but now he’s covering us again properly he does seem genuinely excited about what the club is doing.

He was quite precise, he said Sky Sport News, because when he said it I thought “Sky pay lot of money for the rights for non premier league games they don’t care for”

He said in the pod that it was sky sport news that tell him where to go etc. anyone who’s watched sky sports news over the years know how bad it’s gotten. You would t know there was football outside of the premier league man.
I can’t believe anyone still does tbh with everything else at your fingertips these days. On the rare occasions I’ve flicked on they have YouTuber type nobody’s passing comment. Suppose they’ve tried to change to keep up with the kids/times but it just comes across as naff. Also surprises me the best pundit-wise they seem to be able to do is Stephen Warnock, when they get very good pundits covering live games. There seems to have also been a marked downturn in eye candy compared to the halcyon days of 10 or so years ago ;).
