Is Keith Downie forgiven?

If true, his mates having to put him into a taxi is lifting craic because they over heard daft lads wanting to kick his head in.

I don’t know, he seemed to want his cake and eat it, “I am a journalist” but also “sky told me not to go and seek stories and I wasn’t able to”

I had a look at his YouTube channel and every video is a one about Newcastle Utd, which is his right but it ain’t very balanced.

But in the grand scheme of things it really doesn’t matter
 

The reason he didn’t cover us over recent years is simply sky don’t care about non premier league. Look at boro now, other than a couple of tweets they get nothing.

His love for the mags as a little bit strange but now he’s covering us again properly he does seem genuinely excited about what the club is doing.

For what reason? Because I don’t toe the party line when we are going out with a whimper in pre season? If you look at my posting history you will see I outweigh the negatives with positives, but that won’t suit your agenda will it.

This he didnt help himself when he engaged with nutters on social media, however the fact he’s been threatened irl and give stick while out with his family is bang out of order. There’s no need for that shit imho. Again he hadn’t helped himself but when you’ve been given stick online for years most will have snapped back a few times it’s only being human.

That was undoubtedly pathetic, but still the way some on here went on was pretty ridiculous because he gave more coverage to a Premier League team compared to a League One and then Championship one. Especially considering his employers will have told him where to report on, based on which reports are likely to have the most interest to their viewers/readership. Some Sunderland fans also made arses out of themselves the way they’d go on to him on Twitter, which probably got his back up more. Some mags appear to be doing the same now, despite the position they are in. God help them if they went through what we did.

He said in the pod that it was sky sport news that tell him where to go etc. anyone who’s watched sky sports news over the years know how bad it’s gotten. You would t know there was football outside of the premier league man.

Don't make me laugh. Only Downie can up his game and become the professional unbiased reporter he's paid to be.
Nothing we can do to aid that particular transition, forgiveness or otherwise.
