100%. The only place that's even comparable to the type of bias shown towards NUFC on our regional media, is BBC Scotland/STV with the Old Firm, and even then it's pretty even between the two clubs.Good on you for taking time to write to them.
The bias is blatant and deliberate. Has been for decades. Everything about local news in this region is amateurish though, so it comes as no surprise. I travel extensively around the UK and hotel constantly, often watching local news. Nowhere in the UK is as amateurish as our region, from content to presentation to script.
It's the Little Theatre in Low Fell to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Not one of them would get a media job anywhere else.
Having such propaganda drip fed constantly is not good for the rest of our region and when you think maybe 65-80% of the region doesn't care a fig for what's happening with the mags its a massive f*** you to the majority. It just feeds into the mags delusions too.
Its not only a Sunderland thing though, ask most Boro fans. They get even less coverage than us. And for me its the constant attempts to also try and link Newcastle/NUFC to any and all positive stories no matter how tenuous the link might be as well. It's not even subtle. And there's absolutely no interest from those in charge to even acknowledge it, much less change things.Bang on. The biggest stories are subjective. Sunderland is constantly overlooked and we need to push back on it.
