Jhon Lucumi - Transfer Rumour

Without doubt, its fierce in the PL and the quality is top drawer, with what we currently have we'll sink like a stone very quickly.

Looks like they realise this and are going in the right direction.
Signings and hard work required, spoke to a guy last week who thought we'd have 14 points by October. I did say to him based on what? I know the prem starts in three weeks but we have little experience. Xhaka or someone similar and the positions mentioned are essentials.

We keep insisting on him and they keep rejecting, very rude of them.
Just said OTR there the media feels scarily like it was for Xhaka

Italian outlets (well Colombian for this report but mainly all reports have been Italian newspapers) pushing a narrative for the Italian team to make it look better for them and drive a price, all the while they’re looking for a replacement. Like the German media was for Xhaka

Expect it to be sorted soon.

We're no more desperate than other clubs for needing certain positions filled. Again if we have a good few options we're chasing then the desperation doesnt really exist in negotiations of 1 of them we just tell them we're speaking to other players unless their price is fair

I would argue the team with the worst defence in the league are a little more in desperate need to fill the CH positions than other clubs are

I flip that. We're offering a player a 1st team spot with no competition. Good players will be eager to join and have that opportunity.

Selling club get forced to sell if said player wants to leave. Xhaka just done it and we were just as desperate for a leader in the team than we are for centre halfs. If player joining wants the move then it'll happen

I'm pretty sure every other club will have at least one established top level player in every position, or in the case of the promoted clubs, at least a high level championship player.

When it comes to centre backs we don't have that. Unless we sign one in the next 10 days or so, we'll be starting the season with Seelt, a player with almost no experience in senior football and who has spent the best part of the last 2 years injured.

I'm absolutely certain that the club is working hard to address this, but the urgency can hardly be overstated.
Its all relative to each club.

The scum are desperate for a replacement for isak to maintain their position / be in chanps league otherwise they're screwed aswell.

arsenal we're desperate for a striker for past few years to challenge for prem. Nearly everyone has desperation around certain recruitment matters. We're no different. Id rather be needing a centre half or two than 2 strikers. Thats when you get fleeced!

People really need to realise that we're trying to buy good players with options of where to go. We're not scrabbling around the bargain bin any more. Of course the players (and the selling clubs for that matter) won't just jump at the first offer going, they'll want to wait and see to extract the most value for themselves.

This is why so much happens on deadline day - it's not desperation or leaving it till the last minute, it's when everyone has a clear picture of maximum value. Obviously we'd all rather it happens earlier, but when both parties have to agree to meet somewhere in the middle it's nowhere near that straightforward
