Durham vs Surrey - CC Match Thread

Think this is my first ever match thread!

Squads not announced yet. Weather looks dry for the first couple of days, with a higher chance of rain days 3 and 4. I have taken tomorrow off work to go down, so it better not rain!

Overton called up to the England squad.

I have this feeling in the pit of my stomach that we will roll them over in 3 days. Or it is just severe indigestion

Hallucinating, I suspect, although as @The Rey has said consistently Surrey are no way near the force they once were and we should be pretty much at full strength with only the No7 all-rounder place debatable
So
Lees
Gay
Ackerman
Bedingham
Robinson
Clark
Coughlin/DeLeede
Drissell
Raine
Potts
Wagner
That squad is arguably equal to or maybe even stronger than the Surrey team that drew with Yorkshire minus Overton.

Is the game being played with a Duke or a Kookaburra?

We've struggled to take 20 wickets all season, but we are especially flat with the Kookaburra.
Our batting, bar the openers who are apparently boring and shit according to people on here, is brittle and fragile. If im honest, I have absolutely no idea how we're top!

Didn't I read that Coughlin was out for the rest of the season?

Tongue in cheek comment.

Bedingham missing the game to attend an awards ceremony in SA is a blow and imo a bit silly for us to agree to that at a crucial time.

Neil Wagner has been ruled out with injury whilst Bedingham has returned to South Africa for the Cricket South Africa Awards Ceremony with Codi Yusuf available as Durham’s only overseas player to face Surrey.

The Kookaburra ball will be utilised in this round of County Championships fixtures for the final time this season.
