Greek Island Holiday Help

Watching the playoffs from sunny, seaside Nafpaktos, my hometown! I'm relatively close to the coast across from Lefkada and near the Ionian Islands (about a 90-minute drive from that area), surrounded by some truly beautiful spots. The heat's been intense these last couple of summers, but you’re very lucky if you're planning a trip to these places, they really are something special. Wishing a great time to any of you visiting the islands this year!

Is there anywhere in greece that isnt crawling with cats? Would love to try it but the wife’s allergic reaction to them puts me on edge

I think they are needed. I went to a place.called Benitses around 1980. I've never seen so many rats in my life. Fair bit bother in the bars as well.
I think it's all changed.now. I'm sure you'll be fine

Currently 32 in Crete, very light breeze. We've both been to Chania before, wouldn't have minded another visit but it's about 90 miles away. Not an option in this heat!

We're in AI in Agia Pelagia. The onsite, paid for al la carte restaurant is superb and the food generally is very good. Went into town last night. The prom down the front is crawling with restaurants and people in a good way. Had seafood, nice.

Yamas.

Were usual tsilivi but the prices are a joke at the moment

Was there a few weeks ago, loved it, and will go back, great resort, suited us perfectly. Lots of bars but no idiots and groups of young uns. Mind Greece seems to no longer be the cheap option.

€5-6 for a bottle of Mythos most places. Great bar selling craft beer was pricier but I don't mind that as much as paying a fiver for a bog standard lager. Owner went to uni in Sunderland bizarrely.

Where did you stay ?

Weve stayed in quite a few now in tsilivi and never had a totally bad one.
Watched the Cardiff game at the start of last season in a bar with a few lads fans and a Leeds hoolie.
Our go to hotel the last few years has a chunk of bad reviews lately and we disgustingly booked this next one as our 3rd holiday of the summer so opted away from tsilivi due to price.
We're off to Lindos, on Rhodes, in about 5 weeks.

Can't wait.
Went through it the other week. Looks lovely.
Pefkos looks absolutely ideal too just down the road

Di Paliei, next door to Ark Bar. Great location, nice enough room, but some of the ground floor rooms are bit poky, and the ones at the front are above a supermarket. Pool was fine, only once struggled to get a bed mid afternoon.

We like the space of an apartment rather than a studio so we're a bit limited as lots of Greece seems to have far more studios than apartments. We're always s/c so never really look at hotels, and are never after anything fancy.

We are in skiathos at the moment with kids 9 & 14 and are thinking of booking up for next year.
There at moment mate in the town , getting busier every year and will get spoilt eventually but for moment it’s still a great place esp for couples IMO
Might start a supporters branch

We stayed at Petros once and the restaurants up that end were nice. Bit of a treck to the main bit like, and the beach.
Valentinas Castle just down the road, tiny and out the way was wonderful though. Highly recommend it

Always make a trip to Menir Taverna near where you stayed top regardless of where weve booked, and Freddies bar
