Look North. Again.

As has been pointed out already, IF she'd began her career at NUFC then they'd have shoe horned in umpteen references to it with images of the Mosque on the Mound and assorted pics of her playing in the mint humbug strip.

They do it constantly, with any good/positive news piece and it's detrimental to the rest of the region. No other regional broadcaster does anything similar, none. Newcastle and NUFC aren't the beating heart of the North East like the media try and propagate, most people in the region that is covered couldn't care less about their delusional ideas about the Jawdee Nashun and being somehow exceptional. The local media don't want to accept this and should be called out at every opportunity.
You’ve just created this whole hypothetical scenario 😂😂

Literally decades of being subjected to the same constant mag properganda means the scenario isnt hypothetical at all. They've got more form, for pumping out the type of shite I'm suggesting, than a team of armed blaggers in an episode of The Sweeney.

You seem to be in a minority who either doesn't accept it happens or buries your heid in the sand. It’s not good for the rest of the North East to have a constant bias to the reporting in the local media. It doesn't just effect us in Sunderland but everywhere else that's not Tyneside, or more specifically the B&W bits.

The only comparable I can think of is the way the royals are constantly bigged up by certain sections of the media.
Stop watching it's shite
I agree and I did turn it off for years. But then I thought we shouldn't have to put up with it so I write to them. They have a standard response that goes along the lines of "time constraints" and "covering the biggest stories". Never addresses the issue. Stevie Wonder can see its 🐃💩

There'll be threads after the season starts about champions league games involving the b & w b*st*rds.
Will be interesting to see who amongst 'our lot' will claim that's it's good for english football if they win those games.

You’re getting outraged about a fictional scenario where Lucy Bronze played for the mags who vicariously took credit in local media for international success.

Just seems bizarre to me like

This also doesn’t happen

Good on you for taking time to write to them.
The bias is blatant and deliberate. Has been for decades. Everything about local news in this region is amateurish though, so it comes as no surprise. I travel extensively around the UK and hotel constantly, often watching local news. Nowhere in the UK is as amateurish as our region, from content to presentation to script.
It's the Little Theatre in Low Fell to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Not one of them would get a media job anywhere else.

Bang on. The biggest stories are subjective. Sunderland is constantly overlooked and we need to push back on it.
