Somerset v Durham 22nd - 25th July

No thread,as yet so I'll do the honours
Difficult to get any enthusiasm for this game being played under the Key folly mandate.
Be both understandable and excusable if Somerset prepared a Ciderabad but even then Kookerburra will probably prevent anything other than a bore draw. Obviously need to share the inevitable heavy bowling load so I'd go
Lees
Gay
Ackerman
Bedingham
Robinson
Clark
Rhodes
Drissell
Raine
Potts
Yusuf
4 seamers plus 2 spinners to share the bowling load.

Would take a draw TBF. We’ve got fairly lucky that possibly our two toughest away games have/are being played with a shite ball.

They might add Parky as another spin option if Ciderabad is lived up to its name. I’d rather they played Yusuf play over Wagner.

Surely not going to play 6 batsmen and Robinson with Clark batting at 7.

Only playing 4 bowlers especially with the Aussie ball.

They could have Gay open the batting instead of McKinney, with de Leede coming in as an all-rounder
Well Mckinney on form is the batsmen who should miss out. Personally think its very unfair on Clark that the gets pushed down to 7 its taken him more than 10 years to show he is good enough and when he does he still gets used like a spare part.
But who ever they leave out they have got to play 5 genuine bowlers.

Yeah McKinney's form is a concern.

I'd still pick him for this game and see how he goes. Maybe dropping down the order one or two places might help him.

Overcast here at the moment, win toss and bowl first for me. Hopefully get a few out before the ball turns into a tunnocks teacake
