For all of their good things, they’re poor with promotion. And in this day and age, there’s no excuse for that really.Redd Kross were brilliant last night . Non us knew loads of stuff ,some non ,but it was a tight classy set of melodic surfy psychedelic punky loud bangers .Good blokes and what a noise
Place less than half full though which is not so good . As I mention no gee ups or pushing it on PRecs Facebook this month . 1 post yesterday about set starting early . Probably prompted by band .
Its frustrating mateFor all of their good things, they’re poor with promotion. And in this day and age, there’s no excuse for that really.
The thing is Dan is involved in both pop recs and the vaults. Its frustrating mate
I know it's really tough for venues at the moment but you've got to hit the punters non stop . I know promoters play a part too .
Do those little walk round vids every know and again. Reach a bigger audience . Clips of band , bio of band . Drinks deal if tickets slow . Get the bridge vaults to push you on their socials for that night and vice versa .
It is the promoter who takes the financial risk by booking the band and the venue. Its frustrating mate

Yeah so it's in the venues interest to make themselves the go to choiceIt is the promoter who takes the financial risk by booking the band and the venue.
I remember a couple of years ago I was in getting a coffee and was asked why I missed a certain gig as they knew it was my kind of thing, and the answer was because I did not know it was on. They said it sold poorly and that the promoter had done a bad job. When I asked why the shop itself did not advertise it they said it was the promoters job and why should they do the promoters job for them. I found unusual because its your place, your reputation and your bar money. Shout about it.Yeah so it's in the venues interest to make themselves the go to choice
You've answered the question I was about to ask about what do people expect to see as promotion and where do they expect to see it.Its frustrating mate

If they dont understand how important they are in that process they are on borrowed timeI remember a couple of years ago I was in getting a coffee and was asked why I missed a certain gig as they knew it was my kind of thing, and the answer was because I did not know it was on. Like any business, you can only give it your best shot . As I said, it's tough times . They've posted 2 things on Facebook in total . so far this month before last night . If you've done all you can to push stuff and it bombs you can do no more . Its a joint effort . I have no actual music by last night's band ,I saw the gig advertised a while back ,looked them up , flogged the idea to numerous mates and 5 of us got there .1 lass loved it and thanked me at the end .You've answered the question I was about to ask about what do people expect to see as promotion and where do they expect to see it.
Not defending Pop Recs but quite often you can put a lot of effort into promoting stuff on social media and it goes into a black hole. Or people actually see it, but it doesn't register with them.
Often see people saying they didn't know about stuff when they did, they just weren't taking a massive interest.
