Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

IMHO you need to have a PL defence first and foremost and a real goal-poacher to grab you sufficient points... 38 0-0 draws will work!
I'd take that for last season as it would have been 17th place by 1 goal ahead of Spurs as they finished on 38pts -1GD

The interesting part is that up until the 88th minute they were 38pts +1GD but conceded another in the 88th min then and again at 90+3 to lose 4-1 and they were winning 1-0 at HT

That'd be nerve wracking as we recorded our 38th 0.0 tbf. Best score the occasional goal just to make sure

Hmm. Odd one. Would have thought it was a no-brainer to bring him back, but it appears the club had zero interest. Going to be interesting to see if we do bring in some PL experience...
Strange one for me, I thought he'd be the exact type of player the club would be looking for. If not though, fair enough - they have my trust.

If I was in charge I'd have signed him, although I would have signed Kieffer Moore and Tom Cannon - so what do I know

Not sure anyone can judge it as this stage. The club certainly should have earned our trust when it comes to recruitment. If they didn't see Henderson as a worthwhile option, then that's good enough for me.

Fair do's. They have my trust but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't do things differently myself or speculate on how that may be better or worse.

It wrangles for some reason that they wouldn't want that level of experience at the club when we are a predominantly youthful set up that could benefit from it so much.

I think it only makes sense if there’s someone better coming along. I’ve seen people saying we’re done in centre midfield but we absolutely can’t be. We’re going to have a midfield to pick from le fee, rigg, Neil and jones for at least 3 games, most likely 4 or 5. A short term, experienced head like Henderson would have been perfect for that period.

If Henderson came he wouldn't be coming to be a bit part player he'd want to play every week, he's almost retired but he will have an eye on having an England squad place before he hangs up his boots

I'd see it as being so much more important than what he could do on the pitch come winter. I'm not sure there will ever be a better role model available to the club or a situation when one could provide so much value.

I think what itches is perhaps the reason he isn't wanted is that they're cautious of the pull he would have and see it as distracting from others. Who knows, not the end of the world, I just think it would have been hugely helpful to realiseing the potential of so many of our players.

I think he’s under no illusions of the stage he’s at in his career but I guess we’ll see
