Lancashire v Durham T20 (Sunday)

I was at OT for both games today. There weren’t many Durham supporters apparent (I didn’t see any).

Had a good day catching up with some pals, and thoroughly enjoyed the women’s game (especially Bess Heath’s performance), but as is well documented by others on here, we don’t seem to have the capability of imposing ourselves in T20.

In 22(?) years of the competition we have got to finals day twice. We are generally better than that as a team and as a club, but it just seems that in a tournament which involves fine margins, we jus don’t seem to get it 🙁

Annoys me with so many padels/ramps trying to be played. Our best performance with the bat at home the other week saw us hitting through the ball, particularly Lees. Rather than jumping about the crease constantly. Need a big performance Tuesday!

See I completely disagree with that point

It's a massive weakness we have that we can't play those type of shots. Most sides have 360 hitters and we don't. They need to develop them shots and clearly been practicing.

As Lees especially played some excellent paddle and ramps shots against Notts. You must have missed them!

Bedders and Ackers dismissals just utterly bizarre.

Clark his usual holing out chasing another boundary off a ball not there to be hit. When no need to take risk after already taking 10 in boundaries off the over.

Robinson trying to hit one on the legside when if he left it probably wide on the offside.

I agree its a weakness. Personally think we don't get enough reward for the risk it brings. Far more misses from them than runs. Certain people never look comfortable playing them and they are far too premeditated. Doesn't look like they work much on those shots.

Clark seems to pick fielders out perfectly every game, rarely a good catch always straight to them.

Some really poor dismissals. Always say when they bowl wide need to have the ability to leave it, get the free run and then take an extra ball. Unless of course its a strong chance of a boundary

We lack real explosiveness in our batting line up IMO. We never look likely of scoring near 200 on a consistent basis because we have a batting line up that rarely make big individual scores in this format.
