Anyone have any news on Mark Woods return

He was on TMS yesterday and said he is 50/50 for the last test v India and, barring setbacks, fit and fighting for the The Ashes.
Cheers. That’ll be before August so possibly available for a game with Durham during the 50/50 comp or even in the championship in September

If we get a QF in the t20 maybe he could be allowed to bowl 4 overs

He did mention both the 50 over and CC for Durham as possibilities but said it was up to the England hierarchy.

I got the impression that if they said he could play then he will.

Unless he says he needs it for rhythm I don't think there's any chance he plays for Durham before the Ashes. He'll be wrapped in cotton woll now.

Which is part of the problem why he and other fast bowlers break down so much.

Don't get any red ball match fitness and then wonder why they break down.

I'm sure they use people who know more about fitness than you or I. I get the impression with Wood you just have to make the most of him when he is fit rather than keep him fit.

I agree. It’s often the reason we lose a first test of a series due to bowlers and batsmen not playing red ball for months on end

I hope wood has a run out somewhere as if he doesn’t , it will be over a year since any red ball for him

Don’t think England or even Durham will see much of Wood , he’s 35 year old and always injured.Shame because he’s by some distance our quickest bowler. He wisely seems to be carving a career in the media out .
