Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

Bit of a shame imo but completely expected as it’s not the way the club is running now. We sign young players with their best years ahead of them. No room for sentiment, or older players preventing playing time development of our youngsters. For better or for worse, although it seems to be doing okay for us so far.

He didn't want him clearly.

So that makes 2 thirds of the fans wrong marra, and the reat of us right. 😉

Just glad the whole saga is over and we can concentrate on getting the final few deals done to push us in to Europe. 😁

One year in Browne's case

We've signed older players every year under this ownership. Usually on a free

Edit. And this summer in Reinildo

Add Dack and Defoe as well to the list

Be interesting to see when we play Brentford the response JH will get from us.

I hope it’s positive at start and then he’s just another opposition player.

Can’t wait to see him running the ball along our left wing and then Hume zeroes in on him 😉
 
I just did not see him coming back, doesn’t fit our set up even. He’d have been a good option and yes def great experience which can be invaluable but let’s just move on from it and get prepared for the season.

I think it's more a case of fans thinking what a great shame that Henderson isn't wanted, but conceding that it's because he doesn't fit how we are going to play, which will probably be a very energetic and aggressive press and a counter attack.

Recent bumps have shown you get many big calls wrong. I'm sure this is not right but you give the impression that if the club go A you want B. You didn't like Le Bris, Speakman or our model/strategy. There doesn't tend to be anything humble about your opinion.
 
There was something about it all going back to January that never seemed right to me. I'm not convinced we ever really wanted him that much or he never really wanted to come back here.

And he is 35 coming out of a bad time in Saudi and a weakish Dutch league.

So I'm not that bothered.

If he turns out to be class at Brentford then it'll feel like an opportunity lost for sure with hindsight but I think the Premier League might be touch far for him at this stage of his career.
