Put any gloss you want on it this is a very poor footballing decision

Maybe he wants more money than we can pay. Maybe he doesn't want the risk of getting relegated with us. Maybe he's not suited to our tactical approach. Maybe he wanted assurances we couldn't give him (rightly IMO, we shouldn't change our structures to suit one individual). Maybe it is personality stuff (which could work both ways, but of course easier to blame Speakman or someone at the club, rather than JH). Maybe he just goes along with the 'never go back' mantra (also a reasonable stance IMO).

We'll probably never know but there could be all sorts of reasons or a combination.

FWIW I heard a whisper a few weeks ago that it wasn't happening (I never get anything like this usually, not ITK in the slightest) but since I had no insight into the reasons didn't think it was worth repeating on here, especially in case 'things change'.
