England v India - Third Test, 10/07

I'm completely with on Lords. Can't say I ever truly enjoy going there.

Enjoyed it for county games bizarrely because in my experience the wickets are a bit more unpredictable and above all else, the people who go are there for the cricket.

I am the minority with this but I strongly disagree that there has to be a test match at Lords basically every home series.

I don’t actually think you are y’know, not nowadays - most cricket lovers are coming round to this idea I reckon, plus I think the players themselves would just rather get on with the cricket than having to pander to the ‘members’ and play along with the pageantry.

The next Ashes furthest north test match is Nottingham that is simply a disgrace

Absolutely right. Another example of ECB stupidity.

The Rose Bowl is probably the one ground in England WORSE than Lords and it’s getting an Ashes Test. Absolute joke.

I think with England football and cricket teams they will always be debates.

I enjoy debates about the value of a players contribution to the them sides and respect views put forward on a players value to a particular side or sport.

But don’t respect views when people suggest they picked for other than football or cricketing reasons.

You may never question that but when others do I find it tiresome and even though you never question that you spend plenty of time defending others who do ;)
I defend the right for a poster to express his view irrespective of my view conflicting with theirs. Sometimes comments are throwaway remarks borne out of frustration and not to be taken literally. However comments referring to being an @rse or giving your head a shake are wholly unwarranted regardless of one's viewpoint on an issue.

13 overs in the first hour, two behind what it should be.
Over rates are in issue across all international sides. The WTC points deduction and fines don't do anything.

The ICC either need to just increase the scheduled playing time or start introducing penalty runs.

I mean I'd be massively in favour of the first one, why we can't start at 10:30am in England in days 2,3,4 and 5 to make overs up is beyond me.

Also playing until 7-730pm if the light is sufficient like it has been throughout this test series so far. Cos it's f***ing June and July our best daylight hours.

But cricket is stuck in it's 11am traditional bollocks mentality for starters.

Now we have the crème de menth of English test batting at the crease

Memo to Joe. Get your pads and gloves ready
