I must admit, when the rumour first started I wasn’t 100% convinced. Don’t ask me why but now with our current business I’m all for it. Would be another statement of intent and would give the squad a lift.

And I wouldn’t underestimate the sway it would have on the press. You’d get more pundits less likely to say we’re a shoe I. To go back down.

I'm not totally convinced by it like, playing for England against Andorra is not the same job as playing fir Sunderland in the PL. But, on the other hand we couldn't handpick a player with more experience who would be extra motivated to play for us. It's just been years since he played at this level.
