Simon Adingra 🇨🇮 Signed!

Could see he’s not a right winger. Never in a million years. He’s got a long way to go but this lad is for the here and now which is what we need. Brighton may do well out of Watson in 5 years, but we need a player who is proven and Watson isn’t.
Let's see after 3 years. The lad has to play football, I would have been happy to see him grow in the Premier league. I think he has so much more than Mundle.
Don't know anything about who we are signing, but will make a call after seeing pre-season

Adingra played a good number of games in PL for Brighton last season.
Hallelujah. A couple more like him and I might, I might just think we will go into the final few games with more than just a mathematical chance of staying up.

Two birds with one stone. We get a class winger and clear the way for Watson to get on the field (and this closer to that sweet sell on fee when Brighton sell him on).

Why aren't last season's players going to improve?

How do you know Leeds is a 6 pointer?
why won’t Leeds players improve. Our squad finished a comfortable 4th last season, it’d take some level of improvement across several players to match premier league sides and assume everyone else stands still.

The only way this club stays up is through improving the squad via the transfer market. It’s still an incredible ask and we’re going to need every point we can get. We’ve signed some promising, expensive players, so have Leeds. They’ll have theirs against us as well as a squad that finished 20 points ahead of us. I’d prefer of some of our signings were available to us for that game in particular.

The argument for our players improving more than those of other teams is if we've got more young players with a much higher ceiling of development and they've got more players who have reached their ceiling already

You've added 6 points to the gap for some reason and don't take any nuance to the comparison such as us resting players and dialing it in for s good 8 weeks. We were only about 8 points behind at that point.

I'd argue we also have a profile of a squad that is harder to predict how fast they'll improve. Unless you think Bamford, ampadu and dan james are going to suddenly improve

Some of them probably will. None of it means players in last year's squad can't be able contributors in this year's team. Calling Leeds a 6 pointer at this point of pre season is nonsense either way.

And this.

Points was a mistype, corrected in an edit.

This is my last post on the topic because it’s clear I’m in the minority but I don’t really see why it’s controversial. If we’d asked a few weeks back would you be happy if the same team, minus Jobe and Watson, would play for 10% of the season I doubt anyone would have agreed that we’d be successful. It strikes me as a huge gamble to take.

That really shouldn’t have needed explaining but well put nonetheless 👏
