After getting my hopes up for this one I’d be a bit gutted if we miss out. It’s clearly a very important position and I’d worry what kind of quality we’d be getting as we drop down our list.

If other clubs think we’re getting desperate we also run the risk of being held to ransom. Even it means overspending on this it might be better in the long run
