Leeds agree £10m for Longstaff

This is very Maggie behaviour

That’s me outed

I’d not have even brought Neil into it! Thread was about Leeds and Longstaff. It’s an unglamorous by solid signing at a decent price.

Someone said it will guarantee a relegation scrap. A relegation scrap is progress for newly promoted sides. There hasn’t been much of a scrap for a few years.

One of those players who I think will suffer from playing around worse players.

Not particularly bothered by this one. Some decent experience for Leeds, possibly good value at £10m but wouldn’t think he’d make much of a difference.
100% Agree. The mags have some good players and he has never really jumped out mixing with them. He’s going to go to Leeds as an experienced head but the reality of it is they’ve just added a player to their ranks who’s going to play the remainder of his career in teams fighting relegation or challenging for promotion. It’s extremely difficult for promoted sides to stay up and I get the logic of signings like longstaff. We may fall flat on our faces going the route we are. As highly rated as our signings are nobody knows how it will pan out. We know that having a squad of longstaff types doesn’t work, we know hoovering up championships best doesn’t work either. I m happy with the route we are taking. It’s different and it’s bold. Fair play for trying it.

Good signing for them. Equivalent in a few ways to our Reinaldo signing, a proven if unspectacular player. I haven't watched the PL for years so I basically know him as a solid midfielder. I'm assuming Newcastle sold him at that price because they offered the money up front and it does wonders for their PSR (he's an academy graduate, right- so pure profit).

I've said for a while to my mag mates that i think he's a lot better than they all give him credit for. He's a grafter and has proved he can comfortably hold his own in the premier league. I think them bringing in next level midfielders line Bruno and Tonali made them think Longstaff was worse than he is.

Solid signing imo and in today's market it's a decent fee

No wonder mags are getting knackered with PSR. Not saying he's a world beater but a homegrown bottom half of the table midfielder surely must be worth more than 10m? It's also squad depth that needs replacing
Almost like a bunch of murderers who made their fortune through blood money aren't good businessmen.

Let’s take our mag blinkers off. It’s a very solid signing for them at a decent price!
Wouldn’t say they’re mags blinkers, more like a gas mask protecting us from mag poison (like gravy smelling mustard gas.)

For that reason I’d rather leave mines on.

One of those players who can do a job surrounded by good players but don’t think he’s suited to being the main man in a lesser team. Man Utd had loads of those types during the Fergie years, half of them ended up playing for us.
