Leeds agree £10m for Longstaff

And it’s pretty hard to get into a champions league level side 200 times or thereabouts.
They weren't a Champions League side for the vast majority of the 200 appearances.
I’d make the bet fairer by putting money on Neil never scoring in the champions league for any side.
You never know.
I really don’t get where the higher ceiling thing comes from.
Higher ceiling comes from the fact he's significantly younger and might be a top player. He might not be, but we know Longstaff won't.

Goodness. Don't think he meant it that way.

Longstaff is signing for a club that don't have much of a pull, a bit like ourselves.

We are signing players with a hope that they turn out well.

Leeds are signing a player that has Premier League experience for what could be seen as a cheap price for an English player.

I don't think any of us arguing for or against him think he is world class.

Leeds are in no position to be spending £50m on Elanga. They have to settle for cast offs.

I am going into the season having seen no minutes from our new signings for their clubs. I am relying on scouts.

Leeds fans can at least say its worth the punt. I don't think they are expecting him to come in and score 15 goals from midfield.

Anyway I have spent far too much time talking about a player that isn't even coming to us.

You would have thought watching players with “plenty of Premier League” experience like Bryan Oviedo get us relegated from the Championship and even struggle in League One would have shown to people that there are knackers in this league who don’t get found out because of quality around them.

This lad is a knacker. If he hadn’t been a homegrown Geordie cause celebre, he’d have been carted off to the Championship long ago, having failed at his initial move out.

That process begins in earnest now. Genuinely not better than what Leeds already have in central midfield.
This forum loves premier league experience like.

Rather them than us.

As I said, most of his appearances have been when they haven't been a Champions League club.
Just had a look out of curiosity.

41 games in a season when they qualified for the champions league.

46 in a season where they participated in the champions league (5 appearances in that competition)

32 games in a season where they again qualified for it.

I believe that equates to more than half of all his appearances. So I’ll stick by my initial post that got the laughy face!

Suppose it’s an okay signing for their 3rd choice CM target. We got their first two.

Leeds clearly rate Diarra & Sadiki higher than Longstaff - that’s why they went for them first.

If 46 games is more than half of his games then he can't have played 200.

I thought we were agreeing to disagree, Sea to Shining Sea.
