He played 90 minutes 3 times in the Premier League all season.

The most he's played in any league game this year is 25 minutes.

If he wasn't a mag I would say he's an unimaginative, safe signing. But you'd need far better around him to have any chance of staying up.

People were saying the same about Longstaff while we were mid table in the second tier about to play them in the cup. About two month earlier he’d scored from midfield against PSG in the Champions League. And he got 8 goals that season.

If we signed him alongside what we’ve got I’d think it was an absolute snip at £10m.

Not much objectivity on display here

People haven’t even seen these fellas we’ve signed play and are going on like we’ve signed world beaters.

Nobody had heard of Sadiki or Diarra last week and are now going on like they’ve watched them for years.

You would have thought watching players with “plenty of Premier League” experience like Bryan Oviedo get us relegated from the Championship and even struggle in League One would have shown to people that there are knackers in this league who don’t get found out because of quality around them.

This lad is a knacker. If he hadn’t been a homegrown Geordie cause celebre, he’d have been carted off to the Championship long ago, having failed at his initial move out.

That process begins in earnest now. Genuinely not better than what Leeds already have in central midfield.

I personally wouldn’t swap Dan Neil for him. I’ve seen nothing from Longstaff to suggest he’s that much better, had a decent season a few years ago and that’s it. Good signing for Leeds but I would be gutted if we bought him.

Yep, he's also several years older and therefore unlikely to improve.

He played those premier league minutes so well they've sold him for less than we sold Watson who'd played even less in the Championship.
