Petrovic, too expensive for Strasbourg to bring him back?

But, after spending more than €100 million in transfer on this single position over the last three seasons (35 for Sanchez, 25 for Jorgensen, 20 for Penders, 16 for Petrovic and 7 for Slonina), his leaders made him understand that they were more in the perspective of selling him rather than making him a number 1. Its price has been set at around €25 million, a sum that Strasbourg cannot pay for a guardian. Petrovic could therefore join Sunderland or Bournemouth, two interested clubs, with the higher financial surface.



Basically no update from a week ago, just saying Strasbourg aren’t interested but that’s a good thing. Hopefully media are starting to get wind

Bournemouth apparently been interested from the start but no reports of them pursuing a deal so I think we actually are ahead

He’ll be a name on a list for Bournemouth but we’re pushing hard

Second article this morning from the athletic

Goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic is a target for Premier League new boys Sunderland but they face strong competition from at least five other teams. Chelsea have a gentleman’s agreement in place which allows the 25-year-old Serbia international to leave for £25m


Nothing for a week then two articles this morning basically providing no update

Yeah well club to club is likely agreed since he has a gentleman’s agreement so probably is the stumbling block atm

The journalsit on that podcast said that wages were all agreed. So either:

1. He's speaking shite and it's not as close as everyone thinks
2. The wages are agreed (as suggested), the actual overall fee is agreed (as suggested) - but they're haggling over the upfront fees/ mount in bonuses etc. which is big for PSR.

It’s probably payment structure imo, Chelsea will want as much up front as possible

Well you could. But we're talking about a specific incident that was extremely costly. It's pretty relevant when it comes to summing him up as a keeper given we rarely look in depth at others but do with our own.

The thought on him is based on him generally being quite spectacular in the saves he makes from our limited view of him. But on the evidence against us this season he's been no better with his feet than Patterson, doesnt really command his area and despite some spectacular saves let in one that really mattered where he should likely have done better - I dont see him as being a step up and as such that's why I made the comment.

If you want to believe its just on one incident then fair play. But is it any different for those who don't see him game in game out and rated him as the best keeper in the division because of some spectacular saves, mainly against us?
