I’d like to see us get this deal done but if Bournemouth are willing to match our offer (and they certainly aren’t short of cash) then I’d imagine he’d respectfully decline our offer to join the ambitious project and head for the south coast.

Shows the club aren’t hanging around mind as the Polish lad only officially joined the Saudi club yesterday. Also puts to bed the theory that we only targeted the polish keeper as it was a one off opportunity to sign an outstanding player. We obviously want a new keeper this window.

He will have gone to someone at the club for a comment. The “sunderland expect significant competition” line will have been what he got back.
 
Think we might have gone a bit early on this one.

Nowt from Fabrizio and UK journos saying nothing advanced.

Doesn't mean it won't happen, but Bournemouth definitely have a vacancy and a wad of cash to spend.

I've seen him play and he's looked shaky a few times. You seen him play at all? I've said I hope I'm wrong. Nee need like.

A few when he played for Chelsea, he didn't inspire me with confidence but like I said, I've been wrong before.
