Durham v Sussex (h) C.C.

From a Sussex point of view it all depends on how long John Simpson stays at the crease, which is the normal pattern with the usual suspects out. Really enjoying the bowling from both sides.

As unlikely as it seems, we may be able to push for a win tomorrow if we can make early inroads. I think Sussex will be a bit nervy in the morning for sure, their mindset is probably one of having to bat two sessions to save the game. Anything below a 250 lead has to be fancied from our perspective given how flat the pitch is.

Frustrating day with the weather but it's probably saved Durham as I reckon Sussex would have been going into the final day with a lead of 250+ and tbh with their attack of Archer, Sandhu, Robinson, Hudson-Prentice and Carson's spin together with our ability to throw wickets away I think we'd be struggling.

I admire the optimism on here mind you.:D

Sussex could still easily set us a target of 250+ in 50 overs on a pitch that's not easy to score quickly on. Then Campoball is adopted and...whoops.

They’d have to be bowled out, there’s no way they’d declare to leave us that equation.

I hope I'm wrong but judging by Sussex's results this season I think they won't go looking to force a result, there's been a couple of games this season were they have just batted out the 3rd innings on the final day.
