Boro thread

Surprised they’ve went for him and interested to see how it’s going to work. He’s talked about playing aggressive football pressing from the front. Canny change in styles from the methodical football they played under Carrick.

Feels like they could be stuck in the same cycle we were a few years back. Appoint a gaffer, let him bring his own players in, sack him/appoint a new bloke, shift those players on and bring in new ones.

I heard it last season mate about why it went downhill for Robins at Cov. Apparently they had some kind of fall out?
Aye you’d think the manager and assistant go together but seems very odd. Still think it’s a massive task to get that Boro squad play-off ready for whoever got the job. Needs a good wedge spending

Carrick was the longest serving manager in the championship ( until his sacking), he was given a more than fair chance.
I don’t think the fans would stomach Woodgate being involved again so he had to go.

There is a a lot of dead wood in our squad so an overhaul would be welcome.

Aye Carrick had his chance and can fully understand why he was given the bullet, from the outside looking in it seemed that things had gone very stale.

Edward’s style of play could work getting plenty of crosses in the box for the likes of Conway (who I rate). Just seems a massive shift in approach, time will tell if it’s the right move of course.

Conway is shite in the air. He wasn't too bad in general last season.

I still can't see Boro doing much next season though.

I remember him scoring his fair share of headers for Bristol City. Admittedly haven’t seen much of him at Boro as I think he’s been injured. He’s certainly not Isidor levels of shite in the air!

When the Boro mob were crowing about signing him (and Micah Hamilton) I looked up his stats. He'd scored more penalties than headers.

He missed a good chance in the air against us in the home game. Tamely nodded it over the bar.
