Eng vs India - First Test - 20th-24th June

Tbf mate think the vast majority of us agreed with you at the time.

Hindsight a wonderful thing
I still won’t have anyone tell me it was a good decision to bowl first mind

Look at where India were in the game at 400-3 or whatever it was, and then all their dropped catches and 99 bonus runs for Brook on a no ball.

Another game and they could have had a 150 run lead quite easily after the first innings were done.

Like I’ve said credit to England for making them pay but India will be kicking themselves they haven’t won this match.

It wasn’t, perfect batting day on day one, less so day two and made hard work of it.

Great England performance but the consistency of India’s mid-lower order collapsing certainly played a strong part

England’s batting line up is looking incredibly strong at the moment

It clearly was a very good decision. I expect you will be ‘perplexed and puzzled’ plenty more times in the future. If the pitch is flat and not expected to deteriorate much this team will chase.

Massive slice of humble pie from myself over Duckett too. I’ve slated him in the past but he’s gone to another level now. His recent performances for the white ball side and now the Test team have been absolutely brilliant.

So glad he got a hundred today. One of my main criticisms has been that he rarely converts fifties into hundreds. Hopefully he can start doing that more consistently.

Crawley played well too. Can’t criticise him too much for that first innings dismissal.
