Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

Henderson was always going to be linked. To be fair, we could probably spend £200 million and still stay within financial regulations over a 3 year period, but it would be a massive gamble and wouldn't really fit with what we've been doing.

Forest spent £163 million when they got promoted.
Didn’t Forest breach PSR with their spending?

Weve got to keep some in our back pocket for when we probably get relegated.

The club is much better run now. They keep their cards very close to their chest.........................
I agree but Henderson is always going to be linked if your fair it would be a good signing experience/character might get him on reasonable PL wages and his heart will be in it even if he is on his last legs plus it’s a World Cup year lots to play for if we sign him but who knows what other players we are in for…

And finished the lowest of the 3 promoted sides

His current side have new manager with his own ideas and want to use his £100K a week wage elsewhere.

Our players are totally unproven and green as grass. 1 is only 18! They were average in the Championship at times. You are taking loyalty to another level. We'll get relegated over relying on them.

Henderson was excellent against Andorra, not sure what game you were watching? Literally looked like he's been his entire career. Retained possession, passed, controlled and pulled the strings for others further forward.

When donkey Burn horribly gave the ball away he sprinted back and pinched the ball off the players toes to regain possession with no fuss, snuffed out the danger. He look fit, reasonably fast and mobile. It was an impressive display that proved he's still got it.

The move has zero to do with his Sunderland links and everything to do with the player he is. His pedigree, ability and class. The fact that he's from the town just makes him an even more perfect fit for us.

Retained possession against a side who barely looked to get out of their own half man. I get that you've got his poster on your wall, but theres no need to be blowing smoke up his arse in a game which was absolutely dog turd by any reasonable standard.

It's pointless arguing over him. I said my opinion would be an unpopular one and I think my concerns are valid, given that we'll be fighting tooth and nail each week at the foot of the table, whilst Henderson is used to playing in teams that are the dominant side.

Anyway, let's see what happens if he puts the colours back on. Otherwise it'll just be pages of going round in circles.

on the basis of your argument it'd be a waste of time strengthening our team with Messi, M'bappe, Lamine Yamal or Mo Salah either
